About KAT-TUN Worldwide
KAT-TUN Worldwide, or KTW in short, was originally named “Smooth & Sexy” (or SnS) and was born on February 17, 2007.
After some server issues and a long hiatus, Nika’s precious baby (as she likes to call the site) got a second life somewhere in 2009 and changed its name plus domain name to the current “KAT-TUN Worldwide”, indicating it’s a global website by fans for fans of the Japanese band KAT-TUN.
The "Worldwide" was inspired by their song "GOLD" ("Best of KAT-TUN" album), in which they sing: "Don't you wanna see it when we make it WORLDWIDE?"
The main reason why the website got created, was to have one steady database to search and find KAT-TUN material fast and easy, and to offer unfortunate KAT-TUN fans who don’t have access to LiveJournal anymore a place to fangirl and stay updated with the latest news and videos.
Please keep in mind that KTW does not want to compete with any KAT-TUN LJ Communities whatsoever, but tries to co-exist with them by organizing all contributions from several KAT-TUN Communities and fansites into one database so that fans can find material fast and easy (which currently still seems to be a LJ flaw).
Many Communities now have excellent "Master posts", tagging systems and organized lists, but usually some searching has yet to be done before you know who has subbed/translated/contributed what. Hence KAT-TUN Worldwide's "mission" to collect all those posts and re-direct everyone to the right LJ Community/fansite.
Files and posts from LJ users and communities who have given re-share permission will be posted onto KTW; for all the other non-sharing posts, we'll simply link to the original post. :)
Please keep on contributing to all those great LJ Comms, but if possible, don't forget to cross-post to KTW as well. ^^
Most of the KTW posts are locked and members-only. This is not to bug you to become a KTW member, but it's meant as a pre-caution to protect the subbing teams and uploaders.
If we could, we would make everything publicly visible, but first of all, no JE images are allowed on the internet nor may any videos be uploaded onto streaming video sites (such as YouTube), let alone make them downloadable! In short: sharing images and videos is against JE's and Japan's entertainment laws.
Therefore, we kindly ask you to not upload any videos onto streaming video sites, such as YouTube, Veoh, DailyMotion, ...
Thank you for reading our "About" page, and we hope you'll enjoy visiting KAT-TUN Worldwide! ^_^
