General rules/etiquette
- PLEASE COMMENT
Comments are LOVE! A comment doesn't have to be long and detailed (although that's even better ^^) but just letting the author know that you like his/her story by commenting, is much appreciated.
Also, constructive criticism is a very good thing to include in reviews, but try and watch your wording and your tone, you want to encourage them to write better, not discourage them to stop writing all together.
- NO BASHING ETC.
Constructive criticism is what we strive for in the fanfiction section, there is a line with being constructive and being insulting or rude to an author or their work. If you decide to bash, insult, attack, etc. any writing, authors, or fellow reviewers, you will receive a warning. Several warnings will result in a permanent ban from KAT-TUN Worldwide.
Submission rules
Thank you for deciding to add a story to our Fanfiction Database! We really appreciate it!
By submitting a story, you are stating that you've fully read and understand the Submission Rules and that you understand the consequences of failing to comply with said terms. If you fail to comply, the KAT-TUN Worldwide Team completely reserves the right to contact and/or warn and/or ban you.
If you have questions or do not understand something – do not submit your Fanfiction. Email the KAT-TUN Worldwide Team and ask us, or get on the site forums and ask us. We are more than happy to help clear things up for you so you can do this properly!
- GIVE THE CORRECT INFO
Please make sure you fill in everything the way it should. If you're not sure what to do, please read our Fanfiction Database Guide.
- POSTING A STORY WRITTEN BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOURSELF
You may add fanfics that aren't written by yourself. In fact, we encourage all KTW Members to do this, so that the Fanfic Database can grow and become helpful for people looking for a specific story.
HOWEVER, and this is really important: YOU NEED PERMISSION FROM THE AUTHOR to add the story onto KAT-TUN Worldwide.
We know who has posted which fanfic, so if an author complains to us that his/her fanfic has been posted without permission, we'll hunt you down with our freshly sharpened katanas. Seriously. =D
So please make sure you have permission to post someone else's story here, okay? Oh, and although this quite obvious: don't forget to CREDIT. Thank you very much!
- STORY CHARACTERS
At least one of the main characters in your fanfic MUST be a KAT-TUN member, or a fictional character played by a KAT-TUN member.
So it is allowed to pair up a KAT-TUN member with other people (JE members, co-stars, original characters …), as long as (at least) one main character is portrayed by either Kamenashi, Akanishi, Taguchi, Tanaka, Ueda or Nakamaru - or one of their fictional drama characters.
- GENRES & RATINGS
We accept all genres and all ratings. (NC-17 fics -called "M-rated" fics on KAT-TUN Worldwide- ARE allowed *grins*), except fics dealing with characters younger than 14 years old (in an adult situation, of course), child abuse, extreme sexual abuse, or other situations that inflict with the general terms on KTW. Also remember that KAT-TUN Worldwide is a KAT-TUN fansite, so fanfiction containing KAT-TUN bashing is also not allowed.
The KAT-TUN Worldwide Team always reserve the right to delete (or not) anything at their whims.
- IMAGES
Images (fanfic banners, teasers, …) are allowed in the "fanfiction" or "chapter" space (NOT the "Author's Note" space), but please make sure the image doesn't break our site layout.
- LANGUAGES
All languages are allowed. BUT the “Summary” and the “Author’s Note” MUST be in English, AND you have to state in your "Author's Note" which language you’re writing in!
- PLAGIARISM = PERMANENT BAN FROM KTW
It is obvious that plagiarism will not be tolerated on KAT-TUN Worldwide. If we receive evidence that you have stolen a certain fic, you will get banned from KAT-TUN Worldwide. Permantely.
- YOUR FIC NEEDS TO BE UPDATED
No one likes to read unfinished, abandoned stories. Therefore, please try to remember to update all your stories regularly, even if they are not written by you (of course, if the original author doesn't write a new chapter, you cannot update anything XD).
- WHEN THE STORY IS COMPLETE
Upon completion of fanfiction, please change the "Status" to "Complete".
- CHECK YOUR SPELLING
Readers will also have trouble reading your fan fiction when it’s peppered with spelling mistakes. Remember: Spell check is your friend.
