Welcome to the KAT-TUN Worldwide FAQ page. If you have a question that isn't listed here (yet), or if you don't understand the explanation given here, please feel free to contact the KAT-TUN Worldwide Team through the global contact form.
KAT-TUN (6)
I found someone on Twitter/Facebook who says he is a member of KAT-TUN! Is this real?
Unfortunately, Johnny's members (aside from Jin Akanishi) aren't allowed to have any social network accounts (Twitter, Facebook, ...); they can only have "contact" with their fans through their official J-Web, during fanmeetings and concerts, or during their radio shows.
So no, they don't have any public accounts which fans can see/follow.
Because Jin is also part of Warner Music USA, he is the only one who's allowed to have an official Twitter, Facebook and YouTube account (intended for promotional purposes, although he tends to use his Twitter account for personal matters as well).
As for the other members: Maybe they -do- have a Facebook and/or Twitter account, who knows? :) But it's common sense that they probably won't use their real names, or at least make their accounts public, as that would breach JE's contract, which could result in a suspension or fine from JE.
As far as we know, none of the Twitter accounts are real (aside from the official @Jin_Akanishi one), and the same goes for the other social media accounts (Jin's excluded).
So until JE releases information about an official Twitter or Facebook account, or until a KAT-TUN member clearly announces (in an interview, during concerts, etc.) that he has a Twitter/Facebook account which fans can follow, all accounts are considered fake.
Of course, you are free to believe whatever you want. ^^ If you think that the person you are following is real, then please do. :) But be aware that there are A LOT of people on the internet who pretend to be a celebrity, or pretend to -know- a celebrity, and who lie.
Also, posts about your conversations with these "KAT-TUN members", or information from "people who know KAT-TUN", or posts about "how you know KAT-TUN" are not very liked by most people in this fandom.
So I advise everyone to -not- post any content like this on KTW, or onto any KAT-TUN community for that matter, because this will lead to unnecessary discussions where some people may say hurtful things.
Because so many people -pretend- to know KAT-TUN members personally, most people probably won't believe you even if you -do- happen to know them. :)
In order to protect yourself from getting hurt -and- to avoid exposing KAT-TUN's private accounts and risk getting them in trouble, I suggest you just think of it as your own little secret. ^_^

Info taken from this and this post.
JE has a special kind of ticket system where you cannot actually "buy" the tickets, but you have to request them.
So first of all, you have to join the "You and J" fanclub (it's about $ 50 to join + annual fee). Please keep in mind that you need a Japanese address in order to subscribe, because they don't accept international addresses (don't ask me why).
After subscribing, they send you information about concerts, SCs, anual countdowns, ...
If you want to have tickets for one of those concerts, you have to fill in a request form and send the money to JE. But not everyone gets their tickets; you just have to be lucky, I guess.
If you get the tickets, they'll send them to you. If not, then they send your money back.
If you don't want all this hassle or if you don't have a Japanese address, you can always search online for any tickets, but please keep in mind that these are usually sold at a higher price (sometimes even twice the original price. Or more.)
There are sometimes also (illegal?) sellers in front of the concert location who offer tickets at really high prices. But if you wait until the concert has already begun, they often lower the ticket price.
Note: "Johnny's Countdown" tickets are really hard to get, because people from all over Japan apply for tickets for that one day special concert.
You can send all your fanmail to KAT-TUN to this address (it's the official fanclub):
KAT-TUN (write here whom your letter is to; e.g. Nakamaru Yuichi) Fan Club
c/o Johnny's Family Club
B1F Miyamasutawa
1-19-10 Shibuya
150-8550
Shibuya-ku, Tokyo
JAPAN
Please keep in mind that KAT-TUN isn't allowed to accept gifts (only letters)!
Also, I'm not affiliated with them, so I can't guarantee you that KAT-TUN will read your letters and/or respond (but I surely hope that you'll get an answer!!)
I try to base my writings on actual facts about KAT-TUN (meaning it was confirmed by Johnny's Entertainment or said by the members themselves), but it might be possible that there are a few rumours or incorrect "facts" mingled in between. If you've noticed there is something incorrect, please let me know. Thanks! ^_^
I am going to Japan and I’d like to buy some KAT-TUN merchandise.
Where can I find the Johnny’s shops and do you know other shops where I can find “the good stuff”?
Akame (2)
Plain and simple: no. Although I try to write as truthfully as possible about them (except in the Akamenistics Class, but that's purely for fun), isn't nearly impossible to check all information I receive, simply because most info is based on fan reports or translations of translations, meaning they may or may not be reliable. Because JE members (including Kame and Jin) tend to be vague and mysterious about "Akame", it's really difficult to find 100% accurate and trustworthy material. So my apologies for any incorrect information. ^^;
Yes please! All info is more than welcome, so please post your news in the forum (or send it through the contact form if you don't want to become a SnS Member).

Note: All words written in purple indicate the content types you can choose from in your Member menu (the top menu in black that appears when you're logged in) >> "Create new content".
- NEWS: Only News Reporters and Global Moderators can post here. The reason we don't allow everyone to post, is because otherwise the same news might get posted multiple times, plus the 'NEWS' entry form is kind of tricky to fill in.
Everyone -can- contribute news and rumours in the "Info & Translations" section though!
- BIO- & DISCOGRAPHY: All info is written and updated by our Writers. However, if you know any info or trivia about your favourite member(s), please post a new 'INFO' post. When the Writers update the Bio- & Discography pages, they will include your info/trivia with proper credit. ^^
- INFO AND TRANSLATIONS: All KTW Members can write posts here. Please create 'INFO' posts if you'd like to contribute news, info, trivia, rumours, ...
In short, you can add everything except:
~ translations: although they are added in the same 'Info & Translations' section, you need to add them via a 'TRANSLATION' instead of 'INFO' post.
~ images: pics are fine in your post, as long as it's not an "image-only" post. If you'd like to contribute images for our gallery, please use the 'IMAGE POST' option instead.
~ downloads: they must be contributed via a 'DOWNLOADS' post instead.
~ shop items: these are posted exclusively by the Global Moderators.
~ fanfiction: please use 'FANFICTION or 'FANFICTION LINK' instead.
~ fanart: all fanart must be added to KTW through a 'FANART' post.
~ links: You are of course allowed to add links in your article (e.g. to credit someone or refer to more info), but links-only posts (e.g. "Check out my site!!") must be made with a 'LINKS' post.
If you'd like to contribute translations, please use the 'TRANSLATION' entry form instead. :)
- GALLERY: all Members can upload images to the albums, but only Global Moderators and Gallery Moderators can add and edit albums. To upload, simply click on the 'ADD IMAGES TO GALLERY' link in your Member menu >> "Create new content".
- DOWNLOADS: all Members are allowed to post downloads (use 'DOWNLOADS'), but please make sure your file hasn't been posted already. :)
- LYRICS: if you'd like to contribute lyrics, please do so with an 'INFO' post. Because adding lyrics in those 3 columns on KTW can be quite technical, Nika will add your lyrics to the 'LYRICS' section with the appropriate credit. ^_^
- FANFICTION: every KTW Member can post their own fanfic or someone else's (if you have permission). You can add your entire fanfic on KTW (use 'FANFICTION') or simply link to each chapter on your own site/journal (use 'FANFICTION LINK').
- FANART: every KTW Member can post their own fanart (use 'FANART'), but not someone else's. Unlike fanfiction, it is sometimes difficult to check for plagiarism, so only your own art can be posted.
- BLOGS: all Members are allowed to post 'BLOG ENTRY' posts. You can post about anything here, although we'd prefer if you could include something KAT-TUN/Jin-related in each post. Think of it as some sort of basic LiveJournal, but with a KAT-TUN twist. :D
- GROUPS: If you're a KTW Member, you can add a 'GROUP', just like on Facebook. You can create multiple groups if you like, but please make sure your group doesn't already exist. ^^
- FORUM: <info coming soon>
- CHAT: <info coming soon>
- SHOP: <info coming soon>
- LINKS: Links to your (or someone else's) site/LJ/blog can be added with 'LINKS'. Please take note that only Johnny's related sites are allowed to be added.
But what about Jin-related posts??
Simply choose the content type you'd like to add in your Member menu >> "Create new content" and fill in the entry form as you would normally do. Your Jin-related article will all appear in the separate 'JIN' section.
"Friends" are, well, friends. :p You can only be friends, if the other person accepts your friends request.
As soon as you are friends with someone, you'll see their actions appear in the "Friends' activity" page (unless they don't want their activity to be listed there).
Unless you have de-activated the option in your profile, you should receive an email each time someone sends a friends request or approves one.
"Fans" are people on KTW whom admire you. For example, someone can become your fan because you wrote a fanfiction they liked, or because you contribute many posts or pictures. Or someone can simply become your fan because they like you. :D
And of course, you can also become a fan of someone.
You don't need permission from the other person to become their fan, so there's no need to send a fan request (as you will see in the tutorial below).
On your profile, you won't see the people whom you are a friend of, but you -will- see a list of everyone who is a fan of -you-. On your "Friends" page, however, you will find all your friends, plus the people whom you became a fan or stalker of. Awesome, huh? XD
The "Stalker" option is actually just for fun. XD If you often read posts written by a certain member, or if you're just in a silly mood, you can become someone's "stalker", or someone can become yours.
Like "fans", you don't need permission from the other person to become their stalker. XD
In the black top menu *point to top of page* you can also find your relationships and your pending requests.
Click on "My relationships", and then select which list you want to view (friends, fans or stalkers). You can also click the "Pending requests" link to see if anyone has sent a friends request to you.
To know everything about adding and deleting relationships, please read the "Relationships at KTW" tutorial.
Of course you can! ^^
You can add all your art in our Fanart Gallery:

Then, click the "Browse..." button, select your fanart and wait for the files to finish uploading.
After they're uploaded, click the blue-ish "Continue" button, and give the title, description and keywords of each fanart (this isn't required ^^).
Finally, click "Apply changes", and that's it! :D

To tell you the truth: because Nika (the admin) is scared of Johnny Kitagawa (Johnny’s Entertainment’s big boss). XD No seriously, I’ve heard about (and been witness of) his drastic measures (= lawsuits, websites getting deleted, YouTube accounts disappearing into thin air, …) to protect his company and ‘his’ boys from illegal actions, and because I don’t want to risk any of that, I decided to lock nearly all downloads and other material that somehow might be a reason for Johnny to sue me and this website.
As for the R- and Adult-rated fanfics, I think that is self-explanatory. KAT-TUN has a large fan base with many age differences. Because most of the R- and Adult-rated fanfics contain content that might not be suitable for minors, I’ve decided to lock those. I know most minors do read that kind of stuff, so once you are registered and you’ve read the pop-up warning, everyone can access all stories at their own risk.
The donations I receive go entirely to my monthly website bills or to game prizes for the SnS Radio Station or the Annual SnS Awards. I don't keep any money for myself or pay other non-related stuff with it.
Yes, there are, but they are locked for regular visitors. Once you've become a SnS Member and you have contributed at least 5 posts, you automatically gain access. However, please read the forum rules carefully before you start posting.
No, sorry. SnS is a non-profit website, meaning no one earns money from this project. The donations I receive go entirely to my monthly website bills or to game prizes for the SnS Radio Station or the Annual SnS Awards.
Please take a look at the job applications. If you're interested in one of the jobs, please follow the instructions mentioned there.
I normally don't refuse anyone, unless SnS already has enough people for that job or several members/website owners have warned me that you cannot be trusted (LOL!). So please go take a look, and hopefully I'll be able to welcome you in the SnS Team soon! ^_~
That would be AWESOME! You can find banners etc. which you can place onto your website/LJ/community/forum or in your signature/email/whatever here, although a plain text link is also fine, of course. ^^ Other types of ads (e.g. you mention SnS with a link in your fanvid) are also allowed.
Thank you for deciding to advertise SnS a little! With your help this KAT-TUN fansite can gain more members, which means more member contributions, (maybe) more resources to pay for game prizes AND a happy admin! xD
I'm sorry for this inconvenience! Please try to refresh the page or wait a few moments. If you see a blank page or the page doesn't fully load, it is possible that the server is overloaded. If that's the case, all you can do is wait a few moments until less people are visiting SnS simultaneously. ^_^
Thank you! All help is much appreciated. ^_^ You can take a look at the job applications or you can donate a small amount of money to help me pay my monthly website bills.
KAT-TUN Worldwide gets updated automatically, meaning that all members can contribute. So basically, this site gets updated 24h a day. =)
Currently, the Weekly Newsletter isn't available yet. Please come check our site again somewhere in September 2009. ^_^
There are only two types of directionality: two-way and one-way. An example of a two-way relationship may be "friends." If you're my friend I'm your friend. One-way relationships may be something like "manager," "follower," "stalker." You may be my manager, but I'm not yours.
A user can request a relationship by visiting another user's profile and clicking the request relationship link. They can view a list of all their relationships, specific types of relationships or their pending relationship requests by visiting their own profile. Within "pending relationships" they can approve, deny or cancel a request (approve or deny if requested by another user, cancel if their request of another user).
Sure! You can ask us anything via email or on the forum (just add a new topic).

"Bookmarks" are actually your favourite posts on KTW; when you like a certain post (this could be a forum topic, a news item, a download, fanfiction, etc.) you can bookmark it, so that you won't lose the link (if you ever want to read it again) AND to show your profile visitors which posts you liked (if you liked similar posts, you can chat about it, for example).
The number of bookmarks for each post will show you which items are/were most interesting for KTW members (this can be interesting for fanfiction authors).
To bookmark a post, please read the "My KTW Profile - Bookmarks" tutorial.
How can I edit my Activity settings?
"Activity" means all the actions you, your KTW friends and other people do on the KAT-TUN Worldwide website.
Currently, there is an "All site activity" page, which lists all the actions done by everyone who visits the site (visitors and members), and a "Friends' activity" page, which lists all activity from your KTW friends.
If you'd like to edit your Activity settings (for example, you don't want your own actions listed on the pages), please check out the My KTW Profile - Activity tutorial. :)
All official information (meaning it has been confirmed by Johnny's Entertainment) have a "[OFFICIAL]" tag in front of the title. The rest might be rumours, speculations or fan reports, meaning they aren't official.
Yes please! All info is more than welcome, so please post your news in the forum (or send it through the contact form if you don't want to become a SnS Member).

HJSplit (which can be downloaded here) is a program that can split large files into smaller parts and join them back together.
The following is a quick tutorial on how to use HJSplit to join parts:
1. If you haven't downloaded the HJSplit program yet, please do this now. ^^ Don't worry, we all use it to split and join files, so it's safe to download. ^_^
2. Please download all parts of the (video)file which you want to download on KAT-TUN Worldwide.
For example:
[Love Song] [DRAMA] [KAME] Yuuki
This video file has been split into 4 parts: [Love Song] Yuuki.avi.001, [Love Song] Yuuki.avi.002, [Love Song] Yuuki.avi.003 and [Love Song] Yuuki.avi.004
Take a look at the file extensions. The .001, .002 etc. extensions are typical for HJSplit files and except the last part (here, that's [Love Song] Yuuki.avi.004) they should all be the same file size (here, that's 200MB).
3. After you have downloaded all parts, check if you have ALL parts and see if they all have the same file size, except for the last part.
In our example:
[Love Song] Yuuki.avi.001 - 200MB
[Love Song] Yuuki.avi.002 - 200MB
[Love Song] Yuuki.avi.003 - 200MB
[Love Song] Yuuki.avi.004 - 105MB
4. Open HJSplit and admire the green screen. XD

5. Click the "Join" button. A new window will appear (a purple one this time).

6. Click the "Input file" button and go to the folder where you put all the downloaded parts.
Although you have placed all parts in that same folder, you will only see the name-of-the-file.001 file; don't worry, that's normal. ^^

7. Choose the name-of-the-file.001 file, and click "Start". The program will automatically detect all other files, and will join everything back together into one file. (The more parts there are or the larger the files are, the longer it will take, so please be patient. ^^)

8. Tadaa! If everything went the way it should, your joined file will be in the same folder where you placed your separate parts.
In the example, you should see this file in your folder: [Love Song] Yuuki.avi
9. Take a look at the joined (video)file. Can you watch the video or open the file? Then you can now delete the downloaded parts, as they are not needed anymore. ^_^
10. Enjoy whatever it was you downloaded! =D
If something should go wrong, or if you have any questions, please feel free to comment here! We'll try our best to help you asap!
"One of Japan's top promoters of showbiz talent, Johnny's Jimusho, the office of Johnny Kitagawa, said it is mulling legal action to make sure its performer's rights are not infringed upon. A spokesman for the agency said it was determined to "root out" YouTube and similarly predatory web sites." (Taken from this article)
Because of the following article, the KAT-TUN Worldwide Team won't upload videos onto YouTube or any other streaming video website anymore. I apologize to those of you who just wanted to see KAT-TUN's performances instead of actually downloading them, but as you can read in the article, Japanese showbizz agencies (so yes, also Johnny's Jimusho, the agency of KAT-TUN) aren't very happy with YouTube (and other direct stream website).
Also, if you see a video of °SbF° Productions/Smooth & Sexy on YouTube or on Google Video (= an °SbF°/SnS Logo in the right corner and/or the °SbF°/SnS trailer at the beginning of the video), please let me know! These are old KAT-TUN Worldwide videos (this site was formerly known as "Smooth & Sexy" or "SnS") that shouldn't be uploaded anywhere either.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
Yeah, we know larger files are easier to download, but MF only allows max. 100Mb per file, so we can't do anything about it... Besides, not all KTW Members have broadband Internet, so we personally think 100MB files are the best option. (^-^)v
Well, a lot of people seem to have some difficulties with downloading from MU. So that's why we decided to upload on MF first. And MF links don't expire + they don't have a download limit, so that's why we prefer MF. ^^
However, if you’d like a specific file to be uploaded on, for example, MegaUpload, feel free to ask us! We can’t guarantee you that we will be able to do that immediately, but we'll try our best! ^_^
Yes, BUT WITH PERMISSION. So if you want to post them on another website, blog or community, please contact the KAT-TUN Worldwide Team. (clearly state which file you'd like to reupload and where you're going to post the file). As soon as you get a reply from us, you can redistribute the file (with the appropriate credit + link to KTW, of course). ^_^
Bleh, we don't like errors either.. Please let Nika know which error you have received, and she will see what she can do asap. ^_^
For the most part, those rejected are because they have not followed the Submission Rules set out for the KTW Fanfic Database. Have a careful read through those Submission rules and you'll most probably see why your Story didn't get through.
However, if you have re-read the rules and you still think your fanfiction shouldn't have been deleted, please let us know and we'll contact you asap.
On KAT-TUN Worldwide we use our own rating system. These are the current categories:
All: Everyone may read this fanfiction. There's no violence, no swearing and no sexual themes, not even kissing or touching.
T: You can compare this with the "PG-13" ratings for movies. "T" or "Teens" is for mild scenes and swearing. Nothing you wouldn't have a little kid reading!
R: This for action scenes, mild violence and mild sexual situations (not very graphic scenes).
M: This "Mature" rating is for all fanfics that have an explicit sex scene, deal with serious issues (rape, mental disorders, ...) or include heavy action.
Bèta-readers are KTW Members who offer to help you with your fic's basic structure, adding in a comma or fullstop if you're accidently forgotten it. They're really helpful for non-English writers who have trouble writing English stories or who are not sure their spelling/grammar/sentence structur is correct. Of course they can come in handy for native English speakers as well, as they can check for any grammar or spelling errors you might accidentally have forgotten to correct.
If you want, they can also help you with your story structure, or even with your plotline.
Let us know and we'll have the fanfiction removed right away. We will also ban the member who has stolen your story and put their name in big letters on the main page for everyone to see. Plagiarism is seen in a very bad light here and will not be tolerated!
Tell someone from the KAT-TUN Worldwide Team about it immediately. Don't keep it to yourself and never come back. We don't take kindly to flaming and try to keep the safest, most friendly environment for our Authors. Perpetrator's names will be put on the main page for everyone to see and all details will be included so that they can't do this to someone else.

Enable users to create and manage their own 'groups'.
Each group can have members, and maintains a group home page where members can post into.
Posts may be placed into multiple groups (i.e. cross-posting) and individual posts may be shared with non-members or not.
Membership to groups may be open, closed, moderated, or invitation only.
Groups may choose their own theme and language.
Groups have RSS feeds and email notifications and so on.
Group admins may customize the layout and contents of their group home page and add additional custom pages.
Hell, no. xD It's the first time I'm doing this, so please forgive me if some things don't immediately work out. ^^;
Western Union. It takes only a few minutes before your money arrives. Fast, huh? xD
I will send your money back to you through money order (or PayPal, if I've figured out how it works xD).
Basically, I give you my bank account number (and IBAN number, if you need it), you go to your bank and ask them to send money internationally, and within a few days I should receive your money.
!! Don't forget to add your email address in the description (so I know who has paid what ^^).
In short, I give you my name + address. You go to your local post office (or somewhere else where they use Western Union) and fill in a Western Union form (you need to write down your address, my address and the amount of money you want to send). Next, you send me your control number (written on the form; you should ask about this in your post office), so I can go get the amount of money you sent me. Then I email you again to confirm that I've got your money. (And once I get back from Japan, I ship your goods.) That's it! ^^
No, you can only pay via Western Union, money order or PayPal.
If you want, I can also buy other JE goods (not from the concert). I'll be going to the JE shop in Harajuku (Tokyo), so if you would like any official JE shop photos, please provide me enough info (description, maybe even a picture) and I'll try to find them for you.
All official JE shop photos are 500 yen each (= € 2.95 or USD 4.70) + € 2 (= USD 3.50) fee.
If you would like something else from the Johnny's shop (or the unofficial ones), let me know and I'll see what I can do. ^_^
I accept payment via
~ Western Union (!! Western Union charges an additional fee for sending money)~ money order (takes a few days before your payment arrives)~ PayPal
Also, I have never used PayPal before, but because I know many people like to use it and it's safe to pay online, I'll accept it as well.
I ACCEPT ORDERS UNTIL JULY 30! If you send me orders or money after that date, I'm afraid I won't be able to buy your goods (I will, however, send your money back, of course ^^).
"Track and Trace": If you want, you can also trace your package so you know exactly where your goods are. This service costs € 4.95 or USD 7.84. Please let me know if you would like this service, so I can inform the post office.
Insurance: To make sure your goods don't get lost or don't get broken, you can get an insurance for € 5.95 or USD 9.42. Please let me know if you would like this service, so I can inform the post office.
1. Choose the item(s) you would like to buy in the list at the top of the page.
2. E-mail me with the list of items you would like to buy: kat-tun@sbf-productions.com
In your email, please give the following info:
- Items you want to buy
- Whether you live in Europe or in the rest of the world
- How you want to send your payment
- Whether you want "Track and Trace" (see below) and/or an insurance (see below), or not
3. As soon as I have read your email, I will send you an email with a detailed list of costs (the item(s) + shipment + package), as well as all the information you need in order to pay for the goods.
4. You send me the payment.
5. As soon as I've received your payment, I'll email you again to re-confirm your order.
6. When I'm in Japan, I'll buy your items. As soon as I get back home (in Belgium), I'll ship your items.
And that's it! ^_^
First of all, I'm sorry that the shipping rates are so high, but there's nothing I can do about them. >_<"
I only have one option in our local post office for shipping internationally, so these rates are the only ones I can give you. Sorry...
Also, the "package" costs in the third column depend on whether you only buy one item or several.
If you only buy one item, you need to pay the price of the package in the third column. However, if you buy multiple goods, I'll see if I can squeeze them into one box, so you only have to pay for one package (which is, of course, cheaper ^_^).
For example:
You want to buy the original photos + a T-shirt + a wrist band. I can put all those items into one box, so you only have to pay € 1.40 or USD 2.30 for the package.
However, it might be possible that I can't put all your items into one package.
For example:
You want to buy the original photos + a poster. Because the poster requires a different package than the original photos, I can't put them together (or else your poster won't survive the journey ^_^).
I will try to find the cheapest way to send your items though, because again, I don't intend to gain any money from this. ^^

In case it takes longer than the span of time mentioned in our shipping confirmation e-mail for delivery, please call your local depot/post office to see if they might be holding the parcel for you. Occasionally, parcels delay unexpectedly. Also, in case of your absence, the parcel may be taken back to the depot/post office until you claim it. - First press editions in your order may be sold out by the time we receive your cash payment. In such a case, only the regular edition can be sent for your order. To try to prevent this, please send your cash payment at least two weeks before the release date.
IPMO is a safe and reliable method of remitting payments internationally. It is a service provided by the post office in these countries. If you are located in a country that is not listed, then please consider another payment method we accept.
Your order will be processed once we receive your IPMO. How to Get Your Payment Remitted by IPMO
- Please visit your post office, and tell them you'd like to have your payment remitted to Japan by IPMO. In some countries, the post offices may refer to IPMO by different names. For example, in Singapore, the post office calls it "Foreign Money Order." Similarly, in Malaysia, the post office calls it "International Money Order."
On the other hand, the post offices in some countries offer Western Union Money Transfer service, but since no Western Union Agent exists here in Tokyo, Japan, it is not possible for us to accept it. Similarly, it is not possible for us to accept MoneyGram or Travelers Express money order. Neither are we able to accept any type of bank draft, due to high financial charges. - You will then be asked to fill in a from. Specify your payment to be remitted either in Japanese yen or US Dollars. Please refer to the order confirmaion email you receive upon placing your order online for the total amount in both currencies.
- Make your IPMO payable to:
CDJapan (Neo Wing Co.)
1-9-11-10F Nihonbashi Horidome
Chuo, Tokyo 103-0012, Japan - If possible, get your order number printed on your IPMO so that we can easily identify it to be your payement.
- You pay your post office in your local currency. Your post office will perform a currency conversion for the amount of your payement when they charge you.
- Your post office will remit your payment to us through Japan Post. We usually receive it in 1-2 weeks.
- Your order will be processed once we receive your IPMO, and we will let you know by email.
- If your post office requires you to write the name of the post office in Japan on the application form, please write Nihonbashi Post Office.
For US Customers Only:
The post office will give you an IPMO check physically (applies only to customers in the United States), and you will need to mail it to our address shown above. Please write our company name, our address, and your order number on it. If you receive "Postal Money Order," then tell them you need to receive an "International Postal Money Order." Since we are not able to process orders unless we receive your IPMO, we recommend you to get it registered when you post it, and signature will be required when we receive it. We are not able to take responsibility if your mail gets lost.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- We are not able to accept any other type of money order, check, or bank draft. If your country is not listed here, then please select another method of payment we accept.
- In case we do not receive your IPMO within 6 weeks, your order will be cancelled.
- While availabilities are updated everyday, unexpected delays and shortages may occur. Also, items may unexpectedly prove to be unobtainable. If that happens, the item will be cancelled from your order, and we will redeem the amount of your payment for the item by adding it to the balance of your Frequent Shopper Points.
- First press editions in your order may be sold out by the time we receive your IPMO. In such a case, only the regular edition can be sent for your order. To try to prevent this, please get your IPMO remitted to us at least two weeks before the release date.
- In some cases, the shipping charge may be subject to an update, and there may be additional charges.
No, unfortunately we cannot accept payment by credit card, mainly to ensure your safety.
Because this is not a "real" shop, I cannot afford a secured SSL website, and thus it is better to not accept credit cards than to let customers make a risk. ^_^

There are following two options available for orders containing future releases with different release dates. You can make your selection before you finalize your order.
Ship When All Items Have Been Released
If you select this option, we will wait until all items have been released before shipping the order. For example, if your order contains an item to be released next month and another one to be released two months later, the order will be shipped two months later, after both of the items have been released.
Ship Future Releases As They Are Released
If you select this option, we will ship future release items separately according to the release dates. There will be additional shipping charge for shipping items separately. Please note that this option is available only for orders containing future releases. If your order contains future release items with release dates more than 60 days apart, your order will be split according to release dates as if you have selected this option, because we are not able to process orders containing future release items with release dates more than 60 days apart.
When you have everything you need in your shopping cart, and are ready to place your order, click on "Proceed to checkout " button to be taken to our order form.
When placing your order for the first time, you will be prompted to make selections for shipping address, shipping option, and payment methods in the order form. From your subsequent order, the steps will be simplified, and you will be prompted to select only your shipping options before you're taken to the Order Summary page, where you can review and make changes to your order before finalizing it.
If you have an open order (order that has not entered shipping process), you can add the items in the shopping cart to it by clicking on "Add items to open order" button.
After clicking on "Proceed to checkout" button or "Add items to open order" button, you will be prompted to sign in using your e-mail address and your password. If it is your first time to place your order, you can create your customer account in this step by clicking on "Create Account."
Pre-Ordering Future Release Items With Release Dates More Than 60 Days Apart
We are not able to process orders containing future release items with release dates more than 60 days apart. If your order contains them, the order will be split according to the release dates as you proceed to checkout. It will be as if you have selected "Ship Future Releases As They Are Released" option (see Shipping Options for details).
Add an item to shopping cart by clicking on "Add to Cart" button located next to the item. For future releases, click on "Pre-Order Now" button. You can view items in your shopping cart at any time by clicking on "View Cart" located at upper right corner of our website.
- Saving/Deleting Items
You can delete items you don't want to order from your shopping cart by clicking on "Delete" button. For items you don't want to order right away, but do not want to delete completely, click on "Save for Later." The item will be removed from the shopping cart, but it will be listed in "Saved Items." - First Press Editions/ Limited Editions
Please note that the order won't be placed until you finalize your order by proceeding to checkout from the shopping cart. Some items and editions are limited in quantity and they may become unobtainable if the order is not finalized before they are sold out. - Changing Quantity of Items
Quantity of each item in shopping cart can be changed by clicking on "+1" to add, and "-1" to subtract.
Availability is displayed on the details page of each item to show how long the item is expected to take before it becomes available for shipping
Items Past Release Dates
An approximate span of time it takes for the item to become available for shipping is displayed.
- In Stock
This information is shown to clarify that the item is in our stock, and we are usually able to ship it in 1-2 days.
Pre-release Items
We are able to ship items on the release date if they are pre-ordered early. However, it may take additional time if they are pre-ordered right before the release date, or if supplier has received more pre-orders than they are able to fulfill on the release date. An approximate span of time is displayed in such cases.
- May take up to 1-2 weeks after the release date
This information is shown for some items such as collectibles and figures that often take extra time to be manufactured. While manufacturers try to make them available by the release date, it may take 1-2 weeks after the release date for them to become available.
Important Notes
Availabilities are based on information that suppliers provide, based on the average time it previously took them to fulfill orders. While they update the information frequently, items may take extra time when orders are actually processed. Items may also prove to be unobtainable even tough it’s still shown to be available. In case items delay or prove to be unobtainable, we update customers automatically by email providing an updated estimate of time. Please also note that since the procedure is automated, the reason for delay isn’t provided.
Items Not Available For Orders
An item is no longer available for orders if either of the followings is displayed.
- Out of Print
The item is sold out already, and it is no longer in production. It won’t become available again for orders. - Release Cancelled
The item is not going to be released anymore. - Release Postponed
The release date of the item has been postponed, and the new release date has not become available. - Currently Out of Stock
Suppliers may decide to manufacture more of the item, but no details has become available as to how long it may take before the item is back in production.
For items that have not yet been released:
- Usually ships in 1-3 business days following release
The item is expected to become available for shipping in 1-3 business days after its release date. - Usually ships in 2-5 business days following release
The item is expected to become available for shipping in 2-5 business days after its release date.
What to do in case of delay?
We send an order once all items included are available, so if any item delays, the shipping of your order delays until it comes in. Following options are available.
- Cancel Delayed Item
Cancel delayed items so the rest of your order may be shipped sooner. To do so, please contact us by replying to our email update or send us an email (info@cdjapan.co.jp). Please include your order number and the catalog number of the delayed item. Whenever possible, and if the payment method is credit card, delayed items become available for cancellations on the website in Customer Account. If this were possible, it would be indicated in the email update so that you may cancel the item without contacting us.
*If you paid for your order by any other payment method, including PayPal, please contact us to cancel the delayed item. We will process refund at the same time canceling the item for you. - Send Orders Separately
Sign into your Customer Account and click on the "Ship Items Separately" link. Please note that this option is available only if the payment method of your order is credit card.
*If you paid for your order by any other payment method, including PayPal, please wait until your order is fulfilled and shipped.
For each item available at CDJapan, the retail price in Japanese yen is displayed. Whenever discount is available, our price and the amount you save are also displayed. The item price does not include shipping charge. Please make sure to place your order online. Before you complete placing your order, you will be able to see the order details including the shipping charge. *Shipping charge maybe subject to change at the time of shipping.
We are able to process credit card transactions only in Japanese currency. We make charges in Japanese yen after shipping the orders. Your credit card company will convert the amount into your local currency when it appears in your billing statement.
US Dollars
For your reference, we also display the item price in US Dollars. It is calculated at the exchange rate of the day. We do not have currency converter on our website for other currencies, but you can find them by searching the web. Please note that as the exchange rate fluctuates continuously, the charge in your credit card billing statement in US Dollars will be different from the amount in US Dollars displayed on our website and in our e-mails.
Also, we accept US Dollars as well as Japanese yen for settling the payment either by International Postal Money Order or Cash. The order total will be displayed in both currencies when you complete your order, and you can choose to send the payment in either of them. Since we do not process the order until we receive the payment, the exchange rate will be fixed for the order at the one at the time you placed the order.
Japanese Consumption Tax
In Japan, there is a 5% consumption tax applied to the price of every item purchased. Non-residents are exempt from this taxation. On the other hand, if you are a resident in Japan, please refer to the item price including tax displayed in parenthesis for the amount you will be charged for purchasing the item. Our system determines whether you are a resident or a non-resident based on the first shipping address you register when creating your customer account.
VAT/Import Duties
If you are receiving your order outside of Japan, you may be subject to VAT/import duties, which may be levied once the package reaches the country. If that happens, additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you or the recipient of the order. To find out what these charges might be, please contact the customs office of the country in which the order is to be received
Occasionally an order can still be successfully submitted if an error page is shown at this last step. To avoid placing a duplicated order, please log in to My Account to check for your recent order history before attempting to place a new order.
If there is no order placed, please submit your order again.

Our shipping charge structure is very simple and is based on the following equation.

* What is a 'shipment unit'?
The shipping and handling fee we charge for each item depends on its weight, dimension and the complexity of packaging and processing it requires. For simplicity, we assign a 'shipment unit' to each item. For example, one standard CD or VCD usually counts for one shipment unit whereas a bulkier box set, toys, or posters may count for more units. The shipment unit for each item is displayed on its product page, where you can also find other product details and descriptions.
If you wish to special order a product, we can try to source the requested item for you. Please contact Customer Service Department with the product information in order to confirm its availability. However, please note that we may not entertain some special order requests.
Yes, for an additional fee. ^_^
If your orders are not shipped out, you are welcome to send your request to combine your orders into a single shipment. However, we do not accept requests in the following situations:
- Orders with different shipping addresses
- Orders with different shipping methods
- Orders with different payment methods
- Orders with items partially shipped.
However, once your order has been shipped, you will be unable to cancel either part of or your entire order.

No. But if you live in Belgium (or if you're willing to travel to Belgium XD), you may also come pick up your package at my home address or come take a look at the goods. ^_^
If you plan on doing this, please send me an email so we can arrange our "meeting". :)

Where can I find the Johnny’s shops and do you know other shops where I can find “the good stuff”?
