If you go to the main page and take a look at the orange navigation menu below the banner, you'll see the link "Collected coins" somewhere. Please click on the link.
Now you should be able to see a detailed list of coins you've collected so far.
You can also find your total amount of gold coins on your site profile (your global profile, not your forum profile ^^).

Yes, they will need an account before they can post their fanfics in the Fanfiction Database.
No, you do not have to pay for any of the prizes (otherwise they wouldn't be called 'prizes', huh?). ^_^
Nika (the admin) will pay for all of the prizes herself (hopefully we'll get some donations xD), so there's no need to worry that you will have to pay for something at the end of the Treasure Hunt. ^_^

Well, I think PayPal is the easiest way to donate a small amount of money. That's why you immediately get directed to the safe PayPal website if you click on the "Donate" button.
However, if you do not have PayPal or you want to donate through some other way, that' also possible!

No, when you already have a forum account, you do not need to make another fanfiction account. As soon as you've registered at KAT-TUN Worldwide, you have access to all sections. So it doesn't matter whether you've registered through the main page or on the forum page; as soon as you're a KAT-TUN Worldwide member, you have full access and do not need to make other accounts.
STEP ONE: REGISTER AT SnS / LOG IN
Before you can add a fanfic, you need to register for a SnS Member Account. Don't worry, it's 100% free and you won't get bombarded with emails or other nasty Internet stuff.
To register, please click on the "register" link at the index page or the forum page. Or even easier, follow this link. xD
Once you've done that, please log in. You can use the log in form on the index page (the green block on the right), at the top of the forum or on the link in the orange navigation menu on the index and forum page. It's all the same. ^_^
STEP THREE: ADD A NEW STORY
Before you post your story, please read the Submission Rules.
After that, please fill in the form beneath the rules. I think most of it is self-explanatory, but either way I'll explain everything one step at a time. ^_^
1. Please fill in the Title of your story, as well as the Summary.
There is no maximum length for your summary, but please don't exaggerate by pasting half your fic in there. xD Also, please don't use WrItInG LiKe ThAt or stars, stripes, whatever to "spice up" your summary. Stories with a plain and clear summary will be more popular than with a long, complicated and unreadable one.
(1) A red star means it's mandatory, so you need to fill it in before you can post a fanfiction.
(2) This means you can stretch the editor form (click on the tip and drag your mouse down and/or to the right). It will screw up the site's layout, but if a larger editor screen helps you with posting your fic, then I don't mind. ^^
(3) This is only important for people who are comfortable working with HTML. If you don't want to use the Rich Text Editor (that is called tinyMCE) and manually type tags instead (<b>, <i> etc.), please uncheck the checkbox.
Allowed HTML tags are: <b> <i> <u> <center> <hr> <p> <br /> <br> <blockquote> <ol> <ul> <li> <img> <strong> <em>
2. Now write your Story notes (aka Author's Notes, A/N). Again, if you feel more comfortable typing HTML tags manually, please uncheck the Rich Editor checkbox.
Please write your disclaimer here, so you don't have to add it with each chapter.
3. Next it's time for the Categories.
If you haven't selected any categories yet, you should see the following options:
- KAT-TUN Members only
- KAT-TUN x other JE groups
- KAT-TUN x drama character(s)
- Drama characters only
- KAT-TUN x Co-star/Original character
Please choose one of them, according to your story's main pairing. Wait a few seconds until the subcategories of that particular category appear, and choose one of the options again until you have no other options left. Then click on the ">" arrow (see picture).
If you have multiple pairings, please click on "Main Categories" and start all over again.
4. Once you've added the appropriate categories (aka the pairing(s)), you can choose your main Characters.
6. Please choose the appropriate Warning if your fanfic needs one.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Underaged sexual intercourse => please remember fiction about sexual intercourse with minors younger than 14 years of age is NOT ALLOWED.
If you have accidentally highlighted a theme while your fanfic doesn't need one, please hold the "Ctrl" key and click on it again.
7. Next we have the Rating.
You can choose between "All", "T", "R" or "M".
"All" speaks for itself; all neutral fics without any kissing or more, without any violence or something else that might not be suitable for pre-teens have this rating.
"T" means the fic may be read by teens. It involves kissing 'till non-detailed bedroom scenes, mild violence and somewhat strong language. In short, everything that isn't shocking for most people.
"R" stands for fics with strong language, adult themes, detailed sexual scenes (but not hardcore ones, so no BDSM or other kinky stuff) and heavy violence.
"M" means these fics are only meant for a mature audience (and kiddies who don't read the warning pop-ups xD). Strong language, heavy sexual themes (with all the possible kinkiness you can imagine), strong language, heavy violence, twisted mind games, etc. In short, everything that might appear shocking for most people.
8. Next to the ratings, you see the Completed checkbox. Please only check this if you are posting a one-shot or if your fanfic is finished (meaning you have posted all chapters and the story has ended).
9. Then we have the Chapter notes. It's something similar as the End notes (see n° 10), so you may choose whether or not to post any comments here or at the End notes. Or leave no notes at all, if you've got nothing important to say. xD
10. The Story Text, the step where it's all about. ^_^
You can copy + paste your LJ entry (= your chapter) directly into the editor form, copy + paste your Word document into the pop-up frame after you have clicked on the Word icon or you can upload your Word document directly onto the database, meaning you don't have to check your story anymore for any missing bold or italic text.
IMPORTANT NOTE: you do need to convert your plain Word document to an HTML one first (Open your Word document: "save as" >> "HTML document").
11. End Notes: the same as n° 9. ^^
12. Finally the last step! You can preview your story to check if they're something missing or you can directly add your story if you feel confident enough (LOL!).
Don't worry, you can always edit your story and chapter(s), so if you happen to come across an error or a missing italic text, no need to freak out about it. ^_^
