Rules
1. General etiquette - Be friendly and thank the contributors!
KAT-TUN Worldwide aims at being a friendly and helpful environment for all KAT-TUN fans all over the world.
Therefore:
- Respect everyone.
Please be respectful towards the other KAT-TUN Worldwide Members and respect their opinions.
- Thank the poster/uploader/subber for their contribution and hard work.
It motivates people to keep on contributing to the KAT-TUN fandom if everyone leaves a little "thank you" comment on their post.
Also, please don't anonymously download everything; it's really annoying for those people who have spent their time on uploading files if many people just leech their files and don't even show their appreciation for what they've done. Wouldn't you like to hear a "thank you" each time you do something nice?
So please, appreciate the work of contributors and don't forget to comment!
- No bashing or flaming other KTW members, KAT-TUN (member), subbers, etc.
Sadly enough we know a few LJ users whom main hobby it is to bash other people (or even worse, KAT-TUN members) but unfortunately for them we do not follow that childish philosophy.
Bashing other people on public communities is lame, childish and shows the lack of ANY respect towards other people. And thus we simply deny any access to KTW if anyone attempts to do this. Period.
It's simple: If you don’t like what someone has posted, simply don’t read it and/or comment.
And if you really feel the need to talk dirty, go and do it on your own blog.
- Be careful with criticism and sarcasm.
Of course we don’t only want happy and fluffy brainless fangirl comments like “Ooooh, how happily dappily I don't have an opinion lolzzz” or “All hail the awesome, fabulously divine creatures named KAT-TUN” (although we don’t mind if you post something like the last example XD).
Obviously, criticism is allowed to some extent (what would the world be without it), IF it is CONSTRUCTIVE and has a point (unlike shameless trolling, bashing and flaming).
The same goes for sarcasm. Most of us use sarcasm every once in awhile, which is completely fine, but PLEASE don’t exaggerate.
Also, keep in mind that most of us do not use English as native language, so people might be confused by and/or misinterpret your post (and get offended by it).
- No trolling. No wanking either.
People who make a habit of this need to grow up.
So all KAT-TUN haters or yarakashi: bugger off or we’ll get bitchy. And trust me, you don’t want to experience that.
- No pornography/vulgarities.
No pornography or vulgarities is allowed. Discussions about NC-17 rated fanfics and/or fangirling about "suggestive topics" are allowed though. xD
2. Contribute!
KAT-TUN fandom wouldn’t be so awesome if it weren’t for all those fans who contribute news, images, downloads, lyrics, translations, subs etc.
You are always more than welcome to share news, info, translations, files, images, fanworks etc. on KAT-TUN Worldwide. Although we prefer full (re-)posts, a simple link to your LJ is also fine. :)
The KTW Team tries their hardest to update KTW as fast & complete as possible, but it’s impossible for us to follow EVERYTHING and everyone on the internet. So we really appreciate it if you could help us out by (re-)sharing your posts here on KTW as well. ^^
3. Nearly everything KAT-TUN related is allowed
All KAT-TUN fans are allowed to post anything KAT-TUN related (yes, questions are allowed as well), except:
- Sales posts – Although we don’t mind if you’re selling something, please do not make separate sales posts. If you’re selling something KAT-TUN related, please make a new post in our Sales subforum. All other posts will get deleted without warning.
- Polls – This includes unofficial “vote for KAT-TUN” polls, “your favorite –whatever-“ question, etc. Only KTW Team members are allowed to post polls, sorry.
- Pointless posts – Why waste your time on them anyway?
4. Please use English!
Please use English on all KAT-TUN Worldwide websites, unless you are posting original Japanese interviews/posts/lyrics.
But don’t be afraid to make mistakes if you’re not very fluent in English!
Because KAT-TUN Worldwide is a global website for KAT-TUN fans, most of us don’t have English as our native language, so we’re all battling with English grammar and spelling sometimes. ^_^
We'll be more than happy to help you out if you have trouble explaining/asking something in English, don't worry. ^^
5. Do not re-upload material without permission!
If you would like to re-post something from another LJ Community, website or blog, you need permission from the original author/poster/subber before you re-post it onto KTW.
Original KTW material may be re-shared (unless stated otherwise) but please do credit KAT-TUN Worldwide (http://www.kat-tunworldwide.com). Thanks!
Also, please don't forget that several subbing teams have their own rules regarding re-posting subbed material.
6. Credit!
After you got permission to re-post something here on KTW, PLEASE don’t forget to credit! Otherwise we label you as a plagiarist, and seriously, that's the one of the worst labels anyone can get.
7. No stealing. No plagiarism.
In addition to crediting the rightful owner/poster, DO. NOT. STEAL.
If you do, you’ll end up in our wall of shame, you’ll get banned from all KTW websites AND all of its affiliates.
8. Do not hotlink.
None of the original download links may be shared outside the KAT-TUN Worldwide websites. If you have received permission to re-post any download files, you must re-upload the files onto your own file hosting service (e.g. MediaFire).
9. Asking questions is OK!
Don’t be afraid to ask us anything KAT-TUN or KTW related!
You can PM or email Nika, or simply make a new post at our forum. ^^
